In principio erat verbu, [at the beginning there was word]
Et verbum erat apud deum, [and the word was with God]
Et deus erat verbum. [and God was word]
In the beginning, he created light,
And man to be His image;
“Here, have it, and govern the earth justly.”
At first man was good,
Was a picture and image of God,
All until he wanted a lot more.
On his brother he raised his hand,
Grabbed the land, took up the sword,
Deceived his Father and waded into sin.
Rains are falling, fields are bearing crops, children dream,
God has not left us.
And ever since man’s been deceiving God,
On all sides there are wars and drugs,
As if the Earth were a lost world.
Quarreling are nations and races,
And false prophets are misleading masses.
Children, faith, body – everything is for sale.
Once man used to be just a hunter,
But now he kills his neighbor for money,
Attacks and steals and sows fear through the world.
Rains are falling, fields are bearing, children dream,
God has not left us.
They overturned your words, God,
As if they are living with the devil under the skin.
They don’t know about mercy, nor about repentance.
But I won’t live in that sin,
I won’t make such a path for our children.
Oh, if only my song could fix the world!
Let us protect love, everyone needs it,
Forgiveness and hope are gifts from Heaven.
Look in the eyes of your Creator!
Rains are falling, fields are bearing crops, children dream,
God has not left us. |
